Botanical wedding

Anastasia and Pietro were looking for a modern and elegant wedding, which would be emotional, memorable and fun for them and all their guests, travelling to London from three continents. We embraced the challenge and created a concept for this botanical wedding with a touching ceremony and reception in The Orangery, Holland Park, followed by dinner and dancing at Never For Ever pub in Camden, steps away from the couple's flat.

Solution:

To avoid the cliches, we brought over 150 potted plants to dress up both The Orangery and the pub. Our florist replanted them with care to neutral terracotta pots and covered the roots with moss for a more natural look. Other arrangements included large transparent vases filled with greenery and tropical leaves to create a fresh botanical look. The only flowers were the white calla lilies, used in bridal hair and bouquet. Glass storm lanterns and tealight candle holders added to the setting some sparkle but look elegant.

The same botanical motives were followed through every other detail of the wedding décor from bespoke stationery to the cake, decorated by personalized metal topper with ivy brunch.

We worked with the couple closely for a few months to plan a perfect wedding day for them. From the morning preparations and candid photos to the ceremony and intimate photo session, followed by group pictures and canape reception, the first part of the day was emotional and intimate. Once the vintage double-decker arrived to transport the wedding party to the evening venue, the fun started.

Russian traditions – such as karavai, gor'ko and vodka drinking, were mixed in with European wedding rituals, including bouquet and garter throwing and the first dance of the bride and groom. Everyone was dancing and partying till 2 am and we could tell guests did not want to leave that amazing celebration!
