We are extremely proud and honoured to share details of this very special wedding. When we were invited to plan the perfect London wedding for Ruana and Baur we focused on creating an exciting blend of of contemporary wedding trends and traditions of the Kazakh wedding.
The ideal location for the ceremony and wedding dinner has to be selected and it was obvious that the Corinthia Hotel London would be perfect. Renowned for its exquisite design and style the venue was the perfect backdrop for this exquisite wedding celebration.
Our purpose in selecting a colour scheme was to unite bright and opulent autumn colours with a sense of ripe colourful fruit and a hint of wintry sparkle. This gave us a palette of burgundy, lilac and red with a touch of snow white. Everything from the wedding shoes to the wedding cake harmonised with this colour schemed to create a rich and positive wedding decor full of excitement and warmth.
For an unforgettable wedding it was also vital to emphasise the traditions that are important to the bride and groom and their guests, so we created a bespoke wedding “shanyrak” for the ceremony, symbolic of aKazakh yurt and inner space of the Kazakhs. Then we needed to make sure the wedding photographs were just as unforgettable so we designed a special monogram linking the couple’s and introduced this as their personal logo in a special corner of the room set up for photographs. The same emblem was featured as a Gobo projection above the top table.
When the dinner was announced, guests entering the ballroom were welcomed by breathtaking aerial acts and of course, the evening’s events included speeches from family and friends from all over the world. Guests were also shown a “same day” love story video that had been taken by our talented videographers that morning and edited during the day, plus a surprise music video from friends. The wedding songs also featured a special guitar performance of Wonderful Tonight (Eric Clapton) by the bride’s sister as the theme for the couple’s first dance, then a live band performance of international hits followed by DJ.
One of the greatest successes of the evening was a wedding arts and crafts activity for the guests! We had arranged for each table to be supplied with paper, card, scissors, glue to build a bespoke “dream home” for the couple, as part of their wedding wishes. Each table presented a piece of art to the couple and the rest of the guests.
